Mini Update
They sit in the living room, nervous. Judgement day has finally come for Viggo and Cameron. Well, mainly Cameron. Cynthia gave her an ultimatum, she had two weeks to tell her parents or Cynthia would.
Cameron finally caved, and asked if it would be okay to invite Viggo and his parents over. She didn't elaborate, just that there was something she needed to speak with her parents about, and it involved Viggo's parents as well.
Now as she sits chewing her bottom lip Viggo leans over and whispers.
"You know you really should drink pop while your pregnant. It's not good for the baby,"
She cuts him a side glare, I mean really? Out of all the times he chooses this moment to bring up drinking pop and pregnancy.
Robert and Cynthia look at the young couple expectantly. It seems like this ordeal has taken a toll on the two, their age has finally caught up with them.
Cameron laughs nervously, trying to push aside her nervous grin. She doesn't say a lavish speech that she practiced, she just comes out and says it, that she's pregnant. Viggo looks down at his feet as if ashamed, regretting to have put his girlfriend in this situation in the first place.
Tazikati doesn't take the news so well. Robert and Cynthia are afraid that the woman might faint.
Liam is speechless, his face stunned into silence. All he can muster is a shrug of the shoulders.
Tazikati turns towards him for support, advice, anything, but he's no help in that department right now.
After regaining her composure Tazikati starts making suggestions on what to do with this little "situation." Cynthia thinks that maybe they should ask the kids on what they would like to do.
"It's not as if we can just send her away. I mean, we used to do that in my village when a girl found herself in an unnatural way, but this is the 21st century, we just can't ship Cameron off."
"I think we should looking into adoption. It's the only logical thing to do. She's to far along for an abortion and they are way to young to raise a baby. What do you all think?"
Cynthia nods her head in agreement. Though the baby is her grandchild it makes more sense to see it placed in a home where it can be loved and cared for in a proper way.
"I agree. It's the right thing, the responsible thing to do."
Robert shrugs. "Should we ask the kids what they want to do? Or at least have them agree to this?"
Liam turns to the teens. "I don't know. This is our grandchild we are talking about. I just don't feel comfortable packing him up and shipping him off to be raised by strangers."
Viggo can't stand it any longer and rises from his seat. Mrs. Smith took over the whole conversation, has made decisions for them, and now both of their moms are talking about their baby away to another couple to raise. This totally blows. Cameron grabs his hand and asks him not to leave, she needs him. She needs his support. So he sits back down.
Cameron speaks up. "I don't think this is right. This is my baby. Not yours. I don't want to pawn it off onto someone else, I want to keep it." She's still nervous, and now she's smiling to hide the tears that threaten to spill.
Tazikati looks at her daughter as if she's speaking from the side of her neck. "I'm sorry, honey, but you lost your choice when you laid down to make this child. It's better for you, for Viggo, for all of us if you place this baby up for adoption. You both still have your whole lives ahead of you, and you're too young to raise a child. So it's settled. We'll start looking into adoption agencies as soon as possible."
Both teens sit in shock. Their voices weren't heard and their future has been decided for them. Cameron starts to cry and Viggo just stares off into the distance.
***
Liam just sat there the entire time with this goofy grin on his face. It never chanced, so I took it as him being is utter shock that he could react to anything. LOL
Tazikati dominated the whole evening. I just took ideas from her conversation bubbles. She kept talking about meeting people and the travel sign. So I took that and decided that she was talking about sending the baby away since they can't send Cameron away. Plus, also she did while I played their house was think about Cameron and think about adoption. So I pretty much know where her mind set it.
As for adoption, this is what both grandmother's have agreed upon though their husbands haven't, and neither have Viggo or Cameron. But in the end it's up to Cameron since she has to sign away her parental rights and Viggo. So I'll make up my mind by rolling a die. That will determine in the end what she'll finally do.
Again baby Smith-Kim is due Sept. 2013.
Wow-she did take over the conversation. I hate it when sims have a stupid grin on their face the entire time-messing up my shots.
ReplyDeleteOh, poor Cameron and Viggo. They're young but I do think they have the right to decide what will happen to their child. Still, I can't blame their parents for reacting the way they did either. I think any parent would be devastated at their 14 or 15 year-olds becoming parents and I'm sure the Smiths and the Kims have the kids' best interests at heart.
ReplyDeleteAs for the goofy grins at inappropriate times ;), have you got Decorgal's Modeling Overlay?
http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=272312
It's got a facial overlay option which is really handy for things like this. You could set Liam's face to angry, sad, neutral, surprised...whatever you wanted. I use it all the time!
Apple Valley, I know, I can't stand it when they do dippy stuff like that. Silly sims. I was surprised that Tazikati did take over the conversation. She's never that vocal.
ReplyDeleteCarla, you'd think I would use that mod more. I have it in the game, but haven't used it since I made my version of Sim Nation's Next Top Model. I will have to keep it in my thoughts.
End the end it will be Cameron and Viggo's choice (and my dice). So we will find out the out come this fall after school starts.
I'm with Viggo, that blows! I understand the parents frustrations, but I also feel that they should be allowed to decide what to do themselves. If they decide to keep the baby, then the parents can be completely hands off and let them do as much as they can on their own, see how hard it is. My mom always told me if I got pregnant at a young age that me and the baby would BOTH be attending college haha
ReplyDeleteFor that stuck smile, you just need to "force error" on them and reset, and it will go away. It happens to me all the time. You can force a reset with that pose box too - it's the same function.
ReplyDeleteBut wow @ Cameron and Viggo! Oh, they're just babies! I hope they'll adopt out, but of course, they have to decide that on their own. If their parents don't support them making the decision, Cameron and Viggo could end up resenting them for it later.
It was a shocker to see how old Robert and Cynthia got since I last saw them. You're right, this unexpected pregnancy has really taken a toll on them! I didn't realize they were so close to being elders last time.
ReplyDeleteWell, Taz really did take over. She's sounding like it's her way or the highway...LOL! I can understand she's trying to protect Cameron...I mean, afterall, this is
'our precious Cameron'. *smiles*
I'm sure Tazikati had plans of her own for her daughter (and she was doing so well at her Mom's business)..*sighs* I am really anxious about what the end decision is going to be.
This is really sad. They are still just teens, but they should be allowed to have a say in what happens to their baby. I hope the choice they make is one they think is best, not what their moms pressure them to do!
ReplyDeleteMizzGin, I agree, but with some parents they feel that they know best. Their kids don't have a say in the matter. ROFL Can you picture yourself with a kid in college? LOL
ReplyDeleteLaura, Now I know. I never would have though of that. Now using the pose hacks I would have thought of if I wasn't so tired at the time. But I'm going to make a sicky note of the that for next time.
I agree, they need their families behind them on this. It's never good when your family isn't behind you 100%.
Simmington, Yeah, my founders are all starting to get up there in age. I'm starting to get nervous.
Right now all Tazikati can see is the negative impact this pregnancy will have on her daughter and she wants to fix it the only way she knows how. At least they haven't banned the kids from seeing each other.
Shana, I'm with you! That choice is coming soon since Cameron is ready to pop!
