Adult Education

Adult education in Riverdale

So since I have Townies who marry into my families, as well as sims who just happen to have skipped on their higher learning while young, I'm introducing higher learning for my older sims. So it's no longer, if you missed the boat too bad for you, in Riverdale.


Now adult sims wanting to continue their education or desiring to advance in their career can now do so. I'm still working things out, but for me, so far so good. I like what I've done right now. So this might change after a while.


Any resident residing in Riverdale without a degree may enroll in a correspondence course with the University of Riverdale (UoR) at any time, for a tuition fee of $8,000.


To complete their degree, the Sim will use Monique's computer to write X amount of term papers on selected subjects that go hand in hand with their chosen degree. I will pick which subjects they must write on, and the dead line for them to be submitted.


Once they've handed in the term papers assigned to them, I'll used the Lot Debugger to pick a major for them and get them their degree. Once that's all said and done, they have graduated and can now advance further in their chosen career path if they have returned to school for that purpose. Now if they were to school for a better job, they can now enter the work force and get a job at a higher level like any college graduate

The school year ends on the same high or low notes, depends on the way you look at it. Harvis confessing his undying love to Nora... still. It really is starting to get old, and she's though of all the ways of showing him that she's just not into him like that.

But no matter what she does, no matter who she makes out with, Harvis still thinks that he can win her over.

Keegan has really been enjoying his time at school, though he's only 30 minutes from home college life seems like miles away from home. He does call home to talk to his mom and his dad, but the most of his time is spent talking to his little sister, Amanda.

Danny and Keegan kill some time down at the university pub, The Watering Hole. It's nice to hang out with his brother like this. They haven't done this since he left for college. So it's nice to have his little brother with him. Plus, Keegan has pledged to Cham Ho Cham. Which is the icing on the cake.

Richard is feeling a bit down now that he's on academic probation. It's not as if it were this great surprise that he would be placed on it. He hardly studied last semester and barely went to class. The majority of his time was spend smoking that bubble blower and making out with the ladies. But to know your only holding on by a wing and a prayer still hurts.

Danny is glad this year is coming to a close soon. He's license has been suspended for another year. He parents refused letting him go on spring break, and they are also threatening him, telling him that if he doesn't pull off outstanding grades this semester he has to drop out of his fraternity.

No, not just move out of the house, he'll have to unpledge. They feel that he's getting to wild. College isn't all about partying and fun they say. He's here to get an education, something to help him in the real world. He signs as he sits down to eat.

The new school year starts off without any fan fair. Everyone falls into their class schedules pretty quickly. Marchon misses their own cook in the Freshman dorm. He could cook, this new cook burns everything, even eggs!

Higher Learning

Marchon has been feverishly working and studying his butt off to finish he semester before school starts. He wants to make the summer deadline so that he can pass to his Sophomore year. He though he would be alone in the dorm but to his surprise he's been join by Evi Boone and a few other students who also have to gain summer credits.

They've become quit close these past few weeks. And Marchon is still broken up over Mary. He states this every moment that he gets. The dorm cook is tired of hearing about but some college girl let some college guy do to her. It happens every day, get over it!

With AJ I am at a loss for words. I have no idea how this boy got a 4.0. He does not study. I repeat, he does not study. All AJ does is go to class. And when he's home he's either woohooing Lilly or they are on the bubble blower.

Lilly I can understand how she's passing. Mary makes her study with ever all the time. But AJ. *shakes head* Has this happened with anyone else? Do you have a sim that makes great grades but doesn't do anything other than study. I mean, he hasn't even written a term paper!

I should mention that with my children and teens studying one bar for each skill per school year by the time they make it to college they really don't have to skill for classes. So maybe that played a roll in it as well. Not sure.

Nora has done the worst out of everyone, but with everything going on in her life it's understandable.

It's the final week of school and everyone is getting ready to head back home for summer break. Mary plans to finish packing up her bed room and maybe take a course or two over the summer for extra credit. She's so lost in thought that she doesn't hear the screaming coming from across the hall until a moment or two later.
