Vacation, got to get away!

June, Summer 2014, Taffi Snowden is 57, Antwan is 58, and Gavin is 10.
*I know their ages arn't matching up. When I went into their house I noticed that I had their ages off. So hopefully I have finally gotten it right. LOL

"We finally were able to get away on a long over due vacation. The vacation home in Florida hadn't been used in a very long time, not since Mary was still home living with us. So we called the local maid agency so that everything would be nice and clean when we arrived. We spotted the maid leaving just as we pulled up."





"I wasted no time getting into my bathing suit and slipping into the hot tub. The was felt good and helped me relax all the more."




"This was Gavin's first time at a beach that wasn't connected to the lake back home. He was very eager to build what he called a real sand castle, since it was built using salt water, not fresh."




"The sky soon started to grow a little grey, so I hopped out of the tub and relaxed on the sofa as my Honey grilled us up some lunch."




"Relaxing, enjoying burgers, and listening to the waves crashing on the shore was wonderful, so you could imagine the surprise that was in store for us when Gavin asked us for a little brother... or sister. He said he wasn't picky, he'd take either one."




"Antwon and I laughed before I explained to Gavin that we are in a time in our lives were we are done with having children, and that he'll have to be happy with the idea of being the youngest of our kids. He seemed a bit sad, but only for a second, before the conversation turned to Disneyland."




"He also decided to do a little digging in the sand. Hoping to stumble upon some buried treasure, or even a ring. He may not have found anything, but a crab sure did find his finger!"




"He was in shock at first, not believing what he was seeing, but then the bitter pinch from it's claws filtered through his disbelief, and Gavin started to scream!"




"He tired his hardest to get the pesky critter off of him."




"Eventually he managed to flick it off of his finger, It landed on it's back, before flipping over and hurrying back into the ocean."




"After a quick inspection of his finger, and thank goodness, no blood. I swung him around for a little bit, to help ease his mind from the small attack he just endured."




"After that day it rained, and rained, and rained. It rained so much that we couldn't do anything but sit inside."




"It wasn't easy for Gavin, since his bedroom window faced all the famous attractions that Florida is known for."




"But all this time left, well, time for me and Antwon. We finally shared some quality time together. It was nice to have time to really kiss, and touch, and just "be" with each other."




"I was also able to try out some recipes that I've been holding on to for the past four years."




"Finally the rain stopped and we were able to visit the Magic Kingdom. Gavin's first stop was the haunted Mansion. Poor boy, he was scared to death, and wanted to go on the ride again."




"Haunted rides aren't my thing, so while he was going on his second go I stopped to look at this statue out front."




"I was in for a small scare when the statue came alive. I hadn't realized that it was a live man. Silly, since I am a doctor, one would think I could tell the difference between the living and non living."




"We sat down for a nice family lunch, but couldn't find Gavin."




"He was too busy to eat. He was captain of the Black Pearl fighting off Davy Jones and his minions!"




"So we took advantage of our alone time. I'm really looking forward to the day when it's just Atwon and I. Not that I'm not going to miss my kids, but us, alone, I think it will be great."




"I had to track the boy down so that we could do something together."




"The roller coaster was all the fun I could handle after that. I'm not as young as I used to be."




"I let Gavin have one of my new deserts for dinner that night. He was so happy! After, he called Mary to let her know what he had eaten."




"The next morning brought more rain, and some lightening struck a tree on our property!"




"The fire department wasted no time in getting to the house, but by the time they had arrived the rain and put the fire out."




"We were able to squeeze in Dolphin Cove. The hubby really wanted to see the fire dancer. I think he was just a tad over excited about this feature though."




"Personally, I think it's a huge health hazard. I mean, someone could easily set themselves on fire. Not something I consider entertaining."




"We also made it to Animal Kingdom and did the bumper car thing. That, in my opinion is much safer than fire dancing."




"Our last night the AC went out and the house was so hot. Poor Gavin suffered the most."




"I popped in on him to tell him to stay hydrated and found him passed out on the floor!"




"After some medical intervention."




"He was as good as new!"



"When we got home Gavin talked us into allowing him to get a cat. Normally if I weren't so relaxed I would have said no, but seeing as we just returned home, I said yes. I'm starting to think that this cat, Tee, is going to be a handful. She's already gotten into a fight with two of the neighborhood pets.

Not much happened that's why I sent them on vacation. Plus, Taffi had the want locked for a few years now, and I forgot about their vacation home. So I sent them home and the maid was just leaving. The last time they were there they left as the maid was cleaning.

I had fun sending them around to enjoy themselves. It did rain 3 out of the 5 days that they were there. And it was so hot there, poor Gavin passed out three times.
