She's frustrated and tired. Sometimes the boy can be so aggravating! No matter what she does, or how much she pleads with him. He just does what he wants to do.
Much like his father! No, exactly like his father! Jayden seems to be a carbon copy of Viggo down to the little sour milk expression written all over his face.
Cameron lets out a defeated sigh. "I give up!" She announces this to no one in particular since Jayden has now started chewing on his fingers. He really isn't in the mood to learn any new words for today. He just wants to play.
Cameron would love to play to. It would be great spending her day off hanging out with Suni, or shopping at the mall like her mom. Just, with the pressures of school, caring for Jayden, and having to deal with a boyfriend who's uncaring and not very much understanding of her plight. She's just drained. Needing a much needed break from life.
Speaking of which. Once getting Jayden down for his daily nap Viggo comes over after school. She doesn't mind him coming over, or even waiting for their son to wake up from his nap. Quality was one of their biggest fights when he was first born. At least now the two have bonded, and Viggo truly adores his son.
What Cameron has faults with is his attitude. It's as if they are in two different worlds now. She tries to converse with him in regards to school, advancing his education and the hunt for the ever elusive job. But these topics of interest clearly aren't shared by Viggo. He grows bored of it and lets her know.
His mood swings are so unpredictable. One minutes his blowing her off, then the next he wants to dance, flirt, and play the perfect boyfriend part.
She's not sure what actually broke the camel's back, but she's had enough. She lays it all out on the table, because honestly, things haven't been the same since that night. Even after she took him back it just hasn't been the same. The more Cameron pours into their relationship the more Viggo pulls away.
Viggo wasn't expecting this. Okay, so he really wasn't pounding the pavement for a job. And who cares that he really hasn't been focused in school this year. But he's been doing what is the most important to him, spending time with Jayden. That's what Cameron bitched about all the time, that he wasn't with the kid enough. So this bombshell was not expected.
"So, what? Who is it? You found someone else?"
Cameron shakes her head. There really isn't someone else, she's just tired and explains this to him. But Viggo isn't buying it. He doesn't stay, he storms out of the house refusing to answer Cameron as she calls after him.
"I've never said this before, but I'm glad you and Viggo have decided to take a break." Liam comments over dinner.
Cameron knew her mom never liked Viggo, but she actually thought that her dad liked him. Guess not.
"Now maybe you can focus on finishing up school and not worry about boys." Tazikati adds.
The rest of the week drags on. Cameron doesn't regret breaking up with Viggo, but she's worried that he won't come around to see Jayden. He hasn't called or visited since the breakup, and Jayden continues to as for his dada.
She should have been focused on her professor but she's too busy lost in thought. She also doesn't noticed her classmate who's been stealing glances at her all through class.
He approaches her after class. He's a bit nervous but finally works up the courage to ask her out for coffee.
Cameron's about to blow him off. But it is Friday and she's just broken up with her boyfriend. She agrees to the coffee, but stresses that this is not a date.
Ashely is thrilled by the news. He's been harboring a small crush on her since the beginning of the year and just finally convinced himself to ask her out. He never expected her to say yes though, even if this date really isn't a date.
The campus cafe is right around the block from their building but it's cold, so Cameron drives them over. She tells him to grab them a table while she excuses herself.
"What am I doing here?" She questions her reflection. She should be here, she should be at home, with Jayden. Spending time with him, and trying to get Viggo on the phone.
She straightens up, fixing her coat. "No, you deserve some fun!" And she does. Plus, she doesn't plan to stay out that late anyway.
They decide on a late lunch instead of coffee. And they find that they actually have a lot in common.
They decide to dance as well.
Cameron realizes that she's having a bit too much fun and the time is quickly getting away with her. Ashely is a bit sad that she has to leave so early, but they exchange phone numbers anyway.
"You're late? Where have you been?"
Cameron groans. Sometimes she wishes that she moved on campus instead of staying at home.
"I was out with Suni. We went for some coffee sharing our wonderful life as mothers." She says the last part heading for Jayden's room.
"Mommy missed Jayden."
"Me miss, Mommy." Jayden says, giggling.
She feels a little bad, the time that she spent with Ashely could have been spent with Jayden. He's growing so fast and she doesn't want to miss out on anything. And as much fun she had with Ashely she thinks that she won't see him again. Maybe her parents are right. She doesn't need a guy taking up her time. Been there. Done that. And she has a toddler to prove it. She needs to focus on finishing school, getting a job, and a stable place for her and Jayden. And then, maybe, she can focus on finding a guy.
Tazikati knows somethings up with her daughter but before she can confront her the phone rings. A teen wants to set up an interview for the position open at Sweets n' Treats. Tazikati agrees to meet with her in the morning.
Bri Shahan is not part of the team! With Cameron only working weekends Tazikati needs the extra set of hands. The teen will be working the tea station and cash register when needed.
Cameron is very busy on the days that she works at the bakery/cafe. She bakes.
And works the main floor. So she's with a customer when Ashely enters.
"What are you doing here?" She's a bit surprised to see him.
He laughs, there's a hint of nervousness hidden within it. "You never called me last night, so I decided to show up here to make sure you're okay. I hope I'm not too much like a stalker."
Cameron laughs. "No. But I'm glad you're here. I have to work, but we can hand out after I'm done."
After her shift Cameron tells Ashely that's there's someone she wants him to meet. If he's as interested in her as he says he is, then he needs to know about Jayden. She's not ashamed of being a teen mom and she refuses to make her son some dirty little secret.
"This is my son, Jayden."
Ashely is a little surprised to see that Cameron has a son. She never came across as the time to have a kid. But then just what is "the type"? Ashely questions himself. There isn't a type. And things just happen.
He smiles down at Jayden. "Nice to meet you."
Jayden looks up at Ashely then at his mom. "Meet me!" He says before laughing.

So this update was mainly all Cameron. I had originally wanted to update from Tazikati's POV and her working at the cafe, it just didn't work out that way.
I really thought that Cameron and Viggo were going to be together like forever, even after what he did. I think Cameron just couldn't over come that and plus, the trust issues. She didn't find out about him being secret friends with Sarah though, so that didn't play a roll in their breakup. What really happened, neither really had wants for each other anymore. Or they were fulfilled and that was it. Like they would roll the want to woohoo ALL the time with each other, but other than that, nothing. Except go on dates. And Cameron kept rolling the want to meet someone new.
So after I build the business department Ashely popped up on the lot and I had him in her class. He kept looking at her. So I selected him and he had the want to talk to her, then to become friends, then, well you get the picture. And Cameron seems to be taken by him as well. They have two bolts for each other. So, I guess we'll see where things head.
YAY! Finally Cameron has moved on to bigger and better things :) I'm so excited!!! Just can't hide it!!! Seriously, Ashley seems like a sweetie-though that was a bit quick to meet the son. Heck, at this point I might be biased because of how badly Viggo had been treating Cameron, but Cameron better not keep this a secret too long from her parents, I can only see that going poorly.
ReplyDeleteApple, Now you have me singing the whole song! LOL I knew you'd be happy. I agree, it's pretty fast with him meeting Jayden. But I think Cameron fears getting hurt, and introducing Jayden might scare Ashely off.
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading and commenting!
Ashley is so cute! Way to go Cameron! Seriously, I think their break up is for the best, once the trust is gone, that's pretty much it :/. I agree about it being a bit soon to bring Jayden in but it's best that Ashley know exactly what he could potentially be getting into. And yea, her parents probably need to know as well lol.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm also glad Cameron broke up with Viggo. It makes me sad that it had to be this way but he had enough chances.
ReplyDeleteAshley is cute! I'm glad Cameron seems to be taking it slow with him though. Probably a bit soon to bring Jayden in but I can also understand her wanting to be completely up front with Ashley. If he's going to freak out that she has a kid 3 months down the road, what's the point?
Finally! Go Cameron! Those two were really in different places and while they have a child together they seem to have little else in common.
ReplyDeleteAshley seems like a nice guy, so I hope Cameron will take the chance to see where it goes.
Mizz, So true about the trust. Things just were never the same with them after that. I think she's going to wait a it before she introduces him to her parents. LOL
ReplyDeleteCarla, I knew you'd be happy too! Man, was I the only one who hated seeing them split up? :) I was surprised at how fast she warmed up to him. I glad that they found each other. He hasn't freaked out, so we'll see!
Heredon Cove, LOL Another Team Cameron! Yeah, they really have grown apart. With her in college and him still in high school. Cameron has really matured after having Jayden. But doesn't that happen a lot with teen moms.
Thanks guys for reading and commenting!
