Those College Days Srping 2012-2013

May, Spring 2013, Danny Ottamas, Mary Snowden, Marchon Cunningham, Nora Reed, Lilly Sanchez, AJ Christian, Harvis MacAstril, and Ye T'ang are all 19. Richard Smith is 20. Last update.

Danny is glad this year is coming to a close soon. He's license has been suspended for another year. He parents refused letting him go on spring break, and they are also threatening him, telling him that if he doesn't pull off outstanding grades this semester he has to drop out of his fraternity.

No, not just move out of the house, he'll have to unpledge. They feel that he's getting to wild. College isn't all about partying and fun they say. He's here to get an education, something to help him in the real world. He signs as he sits down to eat.

Talk It Out

Mini Update

They sit in the living room, nervous. Judgement day has finally come for Viggo and Cameron. Well, mainly Cameron. Cynthia gave her an ultimatum, she had two weeks to tell her parents or Cynthia would.

Cameron finally caved, and asked if it would be okay to invite Viggo and his parents over. She didn't elaborate, just that there was something she needed to speak with her parents about, and it involved Viggo's parents as well.

Riverdale Jr. and Sr. High School built 2013

Photobucket

Okay, so here goes my new junior and senior high school. I'm really proud of this. For me this is something amazing. LOL I normally build a box style building, if it be a house, a business, a park, you get the idea. So this, I'm really, really happy with. I hope you enjoy the pics!

So this is the front view of the school. It's a cheerful school (or so I hope) and that's why it's that wonderful bright green color.

New school on track

Kristin Sanchez
Education Advisor

The new junior/senior high school is right on the projected track for it's completion. It was public knowledge that the building, though a newer construction in Riverdale, was starting to fall apart. Walls were starting to suffer from mold, the student body has out grown the cafeteria, and worst yet, the basement portion of the building had flooded.

So the Hood Council deiced it would be best to bulldoze the whole thing and build anew. The site for the new building is on the same land as the old one, but rezoned. We took an Eco stand on the demolishment of the old high school, and we recycled many items. Money that was saved by recycling has been put towards the construction of the new school.

If things keep going as smoothly as it has been so far, the school should be ready by the start of the new school year. The new Riverdale Junior and Senior High School will support our current enrolled population of students, and shall continue to support the future influx of students that have been projected.

Here is the model floor plan for the school:

For the most part, the Council has agreed to the design with a few modifications here and there. We hope that this new school will continue to support our growing population throughout the years to come.
