Update on Riverdale

Sorry I haven't been around or haven't posted. I was trying to get body shop to work and I uninstalled M&G to do that. Well, I had no idea that it would delete my downloads in the process as well. After recovering my downloads and slowly finding which ones were corrupt (which took almost 2 weeks). I finally fired up my game, to only have it crash on me when I tried to enter into homes or community lots. This happened in all hoods, just not Riverdale.

After realizing that something really fishy was going on I tried to fix the problem once more. Got overwhelmed and called it a day. I was just taking a break, which turned out to be longer that expected. LOL Sadly, Riverdale is no more. But fear not! I was able to rescue the majority of my sims. And I have to start building a new Riverdale. Not sure how long that will take. I have RL to deal with as well as m beloved sims.

So I just wanted to let you guys know what's been going on. I'm going to start to rebuild today/tonight. Some of the updates that I had planned I'm not going to update now since I had to use an older saved version of Riverdale to get my sims out. So some of the stories that I had planned can't happen now because of the older version. Hope that makes sense. But most likely the new year and new ROS should go off without any problems once everything is back up and running again!

  1. Good luck with your rebuild! This sounds much more encouraging than what you told me when I asked you about Riverdale the other day!

  2. Good luck! I'm sure your new hood will be wonderful. I heard of some pre-built hoods before, if you're in a rush to get started that might help. Let me know if you need anything built/advice.

  3. So glad you were able to rescue your sims!! Was so pleased when I read the good news on Twitter, but I decided to comment here instead.

It took me about a month of my usual simming time to rebuild Richmond, although its still not completely finished. I just recreated the sims in CAS, and I'm 'finishing' them, giving them back all their skills/friendships/everything else you can't do in CAS, as I play them or as it becomes relevant to the story. Because all that is actually quite tedious and that way, I'm mixing it in with the gameplay. So it won't really be finished until the end of this round.

Good luck with the rebuild!! It's a lot of work but really worth it in the end.
