November, Fall 2016, Bret Patrelli and Ariel Burrego are both 28, Alex is 7, and Fae is 2. Last
update.
Narrated Ariel
We finally moved out of our small apartment and into what I call our dream home. I'm truly in love with the place, it has all that I've wanted, besides a pool.
But that can easily be fixed. I have no idea when though, since all of our saving went into buying the house, not to mention furnishing it.
Bret tells me not to worry, he'll make more money. I do, try not to worry, but sometimes I feel like I'm wasting my college education by not working. Maybe once Fae starts school I'll bring the subject up about me looking for work. But for now I'll just dream of the day that I get my pool!
Alex has wasted no time in getting good use out of the front lawn, Colby Ramaswami seems to come home with his daily. If I didn't know better I would think he was a permanent guest at our house!
We may be strapped for cash but Bret makes sure that I get ample time to myself. And me, my sister, and Tina make plans for Friday.
It's nothing spectacular, but Tina meets me at home and we head downtown...
To meet up with my sister. Her office is located downtown so it just made more sense to meet her there after work.
We stop in at a boutique to look for a few party dresses, and Bell wanted to inquire about their wedding dresses. That's when Tina tells me that she and Greyson have been trying to get pregnant for a while now. They got married last Fall, and still, nothing.
I'm not sure how to respond to that. I mean, all Bret has to do is look at me and I'm knocked up. So how do you tell one of your closest friends not to worry, that they still have plenty of time to try?
I guess she could tell that I was unsure as to how to respond. She gives me a reassuring smile, letting me know that she really wasn't expecting an answer, she just needed someone to vent to. She's ready to go to the doctors to get checked out, but Greyson will hear nothing of it.
The conversation soon shifts to my sister and the dresses that she's tried on. I stand there with the obligatory smile plastered to my face, but deep down I want to scream. Yes, I'm happy for her. I'm thrilled that she's getting married, but I want to be in her shoes so badly that I can taste it!
I just don't understand what's keeping Bret with not asking me to marry him. We have two beautiful children together, a wonderful home, things couldn't be more perfect, except the fact that I'm not his wife.
After looking at dresses, and Bell still not picking one, we headed over to "The Sandwich Shop". They have great specialty sandwiches as great prices.
We mainly eat and catch up.
Then before heading home for the night we all promise to make plans for a night of fun next time!
When I get home of course Bret has let the little ones stay up past their bedtimes. Well, Fae, since she's a real brat if she's up later that seven thirty. And since it's Friday we normally let Alex hang until nine thirty. But this night I wanted some alone time with my man.
So with them all tucked away for the evening, we settle down to watch some thriller about killer cats. It was super cheesy and we spent the whole time joking at and making fun of each scene. It was a lot of fun! Something we haven't done since college.
The night before "Founder's Harvest Day," we had the first snowfall of the season. It didn't stick but it was still nice to see.
This year it's our turn to host everyone. And with our new home I have no worries about accommodating everyone. I couldn't even imagine having just me, Bret, the kids, and my folks in our old place.
Mom is so excited Bell's pending nuptials. Mom has been pushing her as to when the wedding will actually take place. Bell keeps telling her that they want to save up some more money before they actually get married.
So Mom changes the subject to babies, and just when do they factor in.
Sometimes our parents can be a bit much to handle, but Bell is able to do it better than I ever could. She simply reminds our mom that babies are far off, in the distant future. They hardly have the funds to have a wedding, let alone support a child.
Bret's parents camp out on the sofa playing video games with the boys.
But Tylor soon grows bored and heads off to call his girlfriend. He's bummed because he wanted to spend the day with her, but neither of their parents where game for that!
So instead they continually profess their love for each other until she's called to get off the phone. Before hanging up they make plans to meet up tomorrow.
But Tylor isn't down for long. He loves his little nice, and enjoys showering her with attention when he's not distracted by his phone.
And Fae isn't apposed to the extra attention. She loves Tylor and enjoys when he's playing with her!
Since I basically burn everything I touch I don't dare try my hand at feeding our whole family, I leave that to Samantha. She's gladly accepts the responsibility. And I know her turkey will be the best ever!
I do contribute though, with a store bought Tiramisu cake. All I had to was leave it out at room temperature until it thawed. I feel really accomplished!
Everyone enjoys the meal!
It's very tasty just like I predicted. Oh how I wish I could cook like Bret's mom. Maybe I could work up the nerve one day to ask her to give me lessons.
So caught up in my thoughts about learning to cook that I didn't hear Bret trying to gain my attention.
But when I looked up at him, giving him my fullest attention, I noticed the little box pushed in front of me. I look down at it then up at him. I hear Bell tell me to open the dang box. And I do!
"Ariel, will you marry me." Bret asks. I'm not sure if I answered before or after he even asked! I can't believe that it's finally happened!
And neither can anyone else. Bret didn't even tell his twin, Brad what he was planning. But who cares. I'm the happiest woman on earth right about now!

Yay! Bret and Ariel are finally engaged. When I went into their house to play them he rolled the want. I had to pause the game and look at it, and of course I locked it too! I was about to have Ariel as him to marry her. So I'm very pleased.
Their wedding is set for Spring 2018.I can't wait for it! It was a long time coming.
Jodi is having grand baby fever, and baby fever as well. She rolled the want for a grand baby, which I had no idea Knowledge sims could do, and she rolled the want for a baby. Jodi is NOT having a baby, so she's going to have to wait on her children to give her another grandchild.
And poor Ariel, the girl can't cook worth a lick. She can burn water. She has like four or five bars in Cooking, yet she just can't cook. For the most part Bret does all the cooking, and if he's at work or not home then they order take out.
It's about time, Bret! He must have known Ariel was keen, to propose in front of the whole family like he did. You'd have to know the woman was going to say yes, lol!
ReplyDeleteJodi must be beside herself now, with two daughters getting married!
Yes he did. She hasn't come right out and said that she wanted to get married, but little hints here and there. And when is there a better time to pop the question? A family gathering! LOL
DeleteJodi is beside herself with excitement!!!

Aww why can't Jodi have a baby? :p Jk glad they finally got engaged, maybe a double wedding ?
ReplyDelete:P No, Cicero was a surprise baby, no more for Jodi and Zac. Their baby days are over! I was thinking a double wedding, but Bell would never go for it. Plus, both girls tastes are so vastly different I don't see it happening. lol

Yay a wedding! Bret and Ariel are super cute together, and I think it's sweet he proposed at a family gathering, makes it easy to share the news! Hopefully Jodi can get a grandbaby, and let that baby fever just slide right away!
ReplyDeleteHopefully, but Jodi loves the grand babies! Hopefully she and Zac will be around when Faydor and Cicero start their own families!

Funny, isn't it, how some of our Sims manage to constantly burn their food even though they have high enough cooking skills!
ReplyDeleteI like such family gatherings and parties, especially in a house where there is enough room to prevent the annoying bathroom blockage when they all stand in each other's way and nobody can use the bathroom ;-)
My gosh, Ariel is one of my worst sims when it comes to cooking! If she could she'd burn cereal. When I built this house I had just that in mind, the bathrooms! And yet, with three of them I still had a few traffic jams along the way!
