"I've always wondered what my parents talked about when we aren't around. Apparently this time it was about an over due vacation! Yay, vacation! Our family hasn't gone on one yet and I was starting to wonder when it would ever happen.
Mom said that if everything goes according to plan that maybe our winter break from school will be our family vacation."
"But until then I have my best friend, Amanda keeping me company. We are both looking forward to starting high school this Fall. And we'll be in the same class together. That's super important because we don't want to be alone without each other."
"My brother is always hanging around with us still. It was okay when we were in grade school, but now, not so much. He really needs to get a few friends of his own!
But in all truth, I don't think Amanda minds so much. I actually think she has a crush on him. Eww, gross much. I can't even imagine it. My best friend dating my brother. But we are still sorta young so I don't think anything will become of her crush."
"And it's not as if he's making it any easier. He's always putting her in headlocks and giving her noogies."
"Which makes Amanda crazy. She rants at him all the time about how much effort goes into getting her hair just right. Like he cares. But really, he needs to. I mean, if he ever plans on getting a girl to like him, rule 1) never touch the hair!"
"I tried to talk some sense into him about rough housing with Amanda. But like he listens? He's such a guy. They never listen, unless their like my Daddy. And no one is like him. He's been walking on sunshine. He actually finished his law classes early and graduated, and started working at a law firm downtown. He's only an intern but that's good enough for him.
I'm glad and happy. I just hope I never decide to go back to school when I'm forty. I mean, ewww."
"Another thing I can't imagine? Getting up before the sun is even in the sky to get ready for school. Ugh, I mean, why do high school kids have to be at school so early? We do get out at 2:25 pm, but still."
"Summer seems like it just started but Amanda just keeps going on and on about school and how she can't wait until September. It bothers me so much. How can anyone enjoy studying that much? I know I don't. But Amanda loves it!"
"But like me, she doesn't understand how I can't not love school. So many books, with past cultures and civilizations. There's so much for one person to read and learn about.
Yeah, and sometimes I wonder too, how we are such good friends! But we are. And honestly, I could never see myself without Amanda."
"I try to convince her that there's more to life than having your nose stuck in a book. But she wholeheartedly disagrees with me. That's when I through her for a loop and as if she likes Dallas. That stops her head in her tracks. She actually has nothing to say. Ha! I knew it! I knew that she liked him."
"I say that I have to go to the bathroom. But I have no intention on using the restroom."
"Making sure that Amanda's eyes are on me I rush past the water station and dash out the front door."
"Looking behind me I see that Amanda actually grew a pair and was chasing after me!"
"We run to the end of the strip mall into UPS. We laugh so hard. Amanda can't believe that we just did that. I can't believe that we actually got away with it!"
"But the fun is soon over when Mr. Ottomas comes and picks Amanda up. I call my mom to tell her that I'm on my way home. She asks if I want her to pick me up, but I don't. I walked here so I'll walk home as well. It's only two blocks."
"As I'm headed home I notice a cop coming towards me. Maybe I didn't get away with it. Maybe they called the police to make me pay for my pizza."
"I play it cool and walk past her. She only waves and tells me to hurry home since it will be dark soon. And that's exactly what I'm doing. I'm also never skipping out on lunch ever again. The pressure of getting caught it just too much."
Breda got my ROS of being a cheapskate, and had to skip out on her meal. I noticed that I forgot to add that to my ROS sheet for this round. Silly me. I'm just glad she got away with it!
Not much happened in the Johnson household this round. Dallas and Amanda to like each other, they have one blot though. No flirting or anything, which is good since they are only 12. Unless you count the endless number of noogies he gave her. Poor girl, I'm surprised she didn't end up with a bold spot.
Hopefully I'll remember (must make note) they will take a winter vacation this round.
