Principal: Peng T'ang
Teachers: Justin Kim, 38, Richard Smith (23)
Students:Dallas Johnson, Breda Johnson, and Amanda Ottamas are 12. Tyler Patrelli and Rose Picaso are 13, Kobi Corbin and Anan Reed are 14, Bri Shanan is 16, Edwars Christin, Jr., Viggo Kim, Ginger Newson, and Brooke Sanchez are 17.
The end of the year brings much happiness for students. Less work, hardly any homework. More time to focus on friends! And Kobi never gets tired of making Anan laugh and giggle, he can even get smiles from her. Her braces making her even more endearing to him. She may not like them, but he thinks they add character to her.
Some teachers wonder about their jobs though. The student population is on the rise, but substitutes worry about their positions, soon full time teachers will make they way into the building and the subs will be out.
Brooke isn't too focused on the couples around her. Well, if she were honest with herself she wants someone that she can plan summer activities with. But the only person she's still interested in is Eddie. So since she can't be with him she focuses on ignoring others around her and on her up coming graduation.
Speaking of Eddie. He's completely blown off his studies and is more centered on sports. As far as he's concerned his secondary education is over.
Viggo has a few more credits to earn so that he can graduate with his solid A minus.
Bri is busy studying too. She may still have one year left, but she's bent on leaving this school with one of the best academic records known. The last student to do this was a few years ago. Bri wants to leave a unique legacy behind her as well.
Breda and Amanda blow off study period and instead shear the latest gossip they've picked up over the day.
Anan wants to tell her parents about Kobi, but she's still scared about their reaction. Or the possible grounding that would come from the fact that she has been seeing him behind their backs. But she wants to be able to spend the summer with him without all the secrecy.
Kobi wants that as well. And he tells her this. He also tells her that he's not going to be her little secret for long. It's not right. They aren't doing anything wrong. And he wants her parents to see him in a positive light. She needs to come clean!
Breda isn't feeling to hot during lunch. Her stomach is cramping and she has this dull throb in her lower back.
She heads to the bathroom, and to her horror, she's started her period. This was something she was not ready for. And why of all places did it decide to come while she was at school?
Things have been tense between Dallas and Rose, and she has no idea why. So she finally confronts Dallas and asks him.
He tells her that he knows about Tyler and her. It comes out in a bitter tone, and a little belittling to Rose's ear.
She doesn't like his tone, and honestly, she doesn't understand why he's so upset. He's never made it truly known that he likes her like that. And why should she wait around for him to make up his mind about her. She's with Tyler now.
She tries to explain this to him, but he doesn't want to hear it. This turns her off even more.
She tells him to grow up, and once that's done maybe they can be friends again.
Dallas doesn't know why he's reacted in such a way. But now he's lost one of his closest friends because he let his emotions get in the way.
Brooke and Eddie strike up a real truce this time. They are on talking terms. It's even safe to say that they are back to where they were before they started dating.
At the end of the day Richard approaches Ginger telling her that Principal T'ang wants to speak with her.
She wonders what he wants with her, that's until she walks into his office and sees Justin sitting there.
She smiles at him, and his flashes her a quick one in return. Peng directs her to sit down next to Justin.
He clears his throat before he speaks. Pulling up his e-mail account he opens a particular e-mail. He explains what it's about, before printing off two copies and giving them to Justin and Ginger.
They read it. Ginger wants to cry, but Justin sits stone faced. He knew what the results would be. If asked he would have faced up to them long ago. No need to get science involved.
"What do you want me to say? What can I say? I was the adult in the situation and I should have handled myself like one. Instead I didn't. I not only took advantage of a student. But I betrayed myself as well."
Peng isn't surprised by the words spoken from his friend, what he is surprised with though, is the fact that he slept with a student. An underage student at that, and was stupid enough not to use protection. He's messed up not only his life, but this girl's life, and his daughters as well. All because of a few moments of pleasure and not thinking straight.
Peng sighs. He hates doing this, but he has no choice. "As you know, because of the paternity results Ginger's parents are pursuing legal action. And as you also may know, we can no longer discuss the legal case. Based on the fact that you did have a sexual relationship together this goes against school policy. Effective today you have been terminated."
Ginger does start to cry. This is all her fault and now Justin is the one made to suffer because of it. She was just being stupid. Being a teen. She never meant for any of this to happen. Now he has to go to court, her parents are just being vindictive, and who knows what will happen once a judge hears the case.
Peng can't help it, but he apologies. He really wishes that this was a nightmare and not something he has to face, not a person he knows caught up in this situation. Student/Teacher relationships are things you watch on the evening news, or read in the news paper over lunch. It's not something that happens in your school, under your nose. Let alone to a guy you've known for years now.
Justin shakes his head. He knew from the moment those words came out of Ginger's mouth that his life would be different. He's lost his job, facing possible prison time. And most likely being labeled a pedophile. But if faced with it all over again, would he react differently? Maybe. Who knows. But he does not he has feelings for Ginger, and for that baby she's carrying inside her. But he also wants the best for her and it. He also wants the best for his girls. He has no idea what he's going to do. Only time will tell. But for now his life is on hold.
- It was never a question who's the baby daddy is but Ginger's parents wanted proof. We'll find out what's going to happen with Justin during the summer. I'm looking for a community lot good for a city hall/court house, if not I guess I'm going to have to try and build one. *ugh*
- Tyler and Rose are an item. They started dating back in January, and Dallas happened to walk past Tyler's house when they were on the front porch all couple like. So he's a tab upset.
- Eddie and Brooke are starting to develop feelings for each other again, so I can't wait to see where that leads.
