"Settling into life after college has been a bit of a challenge. I don't think it would have been so hard if I didn't have Ebony. But I can't complain. I also can't complain that my parents gave me a job while I'm looking for work with my diploma.

I had to call in to the Sandwich Shop though to tell my mom that I would be late. My babysitter was late showing up. Needless to say, my mom was not pleased."

Photobucket

"But that's okay. I at least get to spend extra time with Ebony. I feel like I need to make up lost ground while I was still in school, and she was with my folks.

But it's so strange taking care of a child that looks so much like a person I want to desperately forget about. Who would have though that one night of fun would leave to a lifetime of responsibilities."

Photobucket

"But Ebony is adjusting well to being with me full time! I love reading to her, and since my babysitter never showed up, I had a whole day to spend with her. I think she really enjoyed a day of just me and her!"

Photobucket

"Mom calls me that evening making sure that I'll be into work in the morning. I promise her that I will. I even bit the bullet and hired a nanny. They cost more than a sitter, but at least I know that they will show up."

Photobucket

"That's when she tells me that Dad wants to set me up with this "lovely" young man who ate at the restaurant today. She also thinks that he would be good for me."

Photobucket

"I close my eyes a sigh; a relationship is not something I'm in the market for right now. I explain this to my mom, but she doesn't want to hear any of it. She goes on and on about how I need a man in my life. In Ebony's life too. We both need stablility.

Yeah, well, if I had kept Castor out of my life I would have Ebony to watch out for now would I! But I didn't say that."

Photobucket

"So my life consists of early morning rushing. I rush to make my bed."

Photobucket

"I rush to grab the first five minutes of the morning news."

Photobucket

"And then I rush to get Ebony ready before I head off to work."

Photobucket

"I do feel bad about leaving her though. I hate to say it, but I didn't feel bad plopping her in my parents lap while I was at school. But now, I'm older, and I truly understand y responsibilities towards her. So out of guilt I splurged and bought her a doll house."

Photobucket

"I know she enjoys it very much. Her dolls can agree to that, they have her small teeth imprints all along their tiny plastic feet!"

Photobucket

"But I wonder how much time the nanny spends with her? I want to make sure that she gets enough social interaction through the day and just isn't off entertaining herself."

Photobucket

"Soon as I get home I with her. I enjoy reading, and I want Ebony to love reading as well. So we read every second that we get. I know she's not paying attention one hundred percent of the time, but it's quality for us. And I much rather do this than go on a date with some guy my parents have picked out for me."

Photobucket

"But a home cooked meal - even if it's from a restaurant - sure sounds good. I really wish I learned how to make more than roman noddles. I've been living off of frozen store bought pizza since graduation. Ebony get's off easy with her toddler meals."

Photobucket

"And I also have to put up with noisy neighbors. No matter if it's early in the morning or late at night, they make all kinds of nose. From moving furniture, to music, to other activities. I can't wait until I land a good paying job and I can move out of here."

Photobucket

"Friday night Anan popped in for a visit. And that God, she offered to make dinner. It's a shame when a thirteen year old can cook better than me."

Photobucket

"While eating I can tell something is wrong with her. So, never the one to beat around the bush, I ask her."

Photobucket

"'It's nothing,' she says. But I know there is a lot more to this nothing. So I ask again."

Photobucket

"This time it's like a dam that rush forth, and she goes on and on about how unfair Mom and Dad are being. They refuse to hear logic and won't let her date her friend Kobi. She goes on to say how it's my fault, and how she now has to live in my shadow."

Photobucket

"I have to reminder her that it's not my fault. But maybe it is, but Mom and Dad can't use me as a yard stick to measure her and her actions. If that were the case, then all of us would have to be "perfect" like Asia.

I tell her that they are only looking out for her best interest, but I also think that they are being unfair. I offer to talk to them on her behalf."

Photobucket

"This brightens up her face. And the rest of her visit turns into a sleep over. And I get to learn all about this little Kobi. I just hope that I can do right by Ebony, and that we can have a close relationship when she gets older."

It seems that woohoo is the major topic of discussion all my older sims are having with their teens. But here I like to think that Anan is asking Nora how her first time was. But Anan is far from rolling woohoo wants. And I hope it stays like that for a loooong time. LOL

Nora is adjusting well to being a mom. I was worried since she never rolled any wants for Ebony while at school. Now she'll roll two or three of them. Ebony rolls wants for bother her grandparents, Anan, and Nora. So I find that good!

Nora really can't cook either. She has like five bars in cooking, but burns everything. I was surprised that she didn't burn the pizza. So she's been living off of that for now.

  1. Ebony is just the cutest little thing! I can understand how Nora really is happy to finally be with her baby girl, but feeling rushed at the same time. Kids are a lot of work and you love them, but you wish you could just have some "me" time. Lol, great update and pretty pictures!

  2. Mandie, I love Ebony. She really is cute. I need to do a side by side of her cousin, they look almost identical! Nora is adjusting to being a parent and a working woman, she just needs to keep her head up! Thanks for reading a commenting. You rock!

  3. Nora is doing a great job with Ebony (who is adorable, by the way), especially seeing she's doing it all on her own. Who needs Castor, eh?

It's good that Anan has Nora around to offer some words of wisdom. It's nice to talk about things with someone closer to your age, as opposed to your parents who are so OLD to you when you're that age!

  4. I'm glad Nora is adjusting to motherhood. Ebony is so cute!

It's good that Anan can talk to Nora about everything. Hopefully Nora can convince her parents to loosen up just a bit with Anan. It's not her fault that Nora got pregnant and she shouldn't be forced to be the perfect child to make up for Nora.

  6. Carla, That's right!Who needs Castor! Nora is doing it one her own! Out of all her siblings, Nora is the closest to her in age, so she can actually talk to her. And her parents are OLD. ROFL

Shana, I agree with you, Anan shouldn't be held "captive" because of what her older sister has done. They are all individuals and should be allowed to make their own choices. But for now, Anan is 1 and must deal with her parents. ;)

    Apple, Me too!

Thanks guys for taking the time to read and post. You guys rock!
