Denial is not a river in Egypt

April, Spring 2011, Nashira Sanchez is 28 and Taffi Snowden is 55
Another mini update

It wasn't uncommon to have light snow fall in April in Riverdale. But what was uncommon was Nashira and her procrastination. She waited until the last possible moment to finally come to turms with the truth... almost truth. Because things still hadn't been confirmed yet.

So instead of relaxing on her day off, Nashira found herself logging the 30 minute drive from Riverdale to downtown... in the snow. Okay, light dusting of snow. She mumbled as she flipped through the radio stations finally finding something worthy of listening to and, continued on her way.

She arrived at the hospital and headed up to the gynecological floor. There were only two reasons to visit Doctor Snowden, and she wasn't here for a yearly pap-smear.

Taffi greeted her as she entered the exam room a warm smile on her face.

"So, what's seems to be the problem, Nashira?"

Nashira groaned inside. If it were for the patient confidentiality law she would be here, knowing that this would get back to her mother by night fall.

Taking a deep breath she voices her fears and concerns. Taffi never once frowns or shows any kind of negative judgement. Which make Nashira all the more unnerved.

Taffi tells her to lay back and relax and, explains everything that she plans on doing. Still doesn't make Nashira fell better. She already knows the answer, even if it's not what she wants to hear.

Once the exam is over Nashira meets Taffi in her office.

Taffi smiles warmly, it's her "doctor" thing. It puts patients at ease, most of the time.

"Well, as you know the results are positive."

She could have sworn her heart jumped into her throat. This was not happening. It was time to face facts and come back from her little trip to Egypt. The Nile was nice all year but it was time to pull her head out of the sand and grow up.

"So, there's no way you could be wrong. Do tests go bad?"

"No, Nashira, you're pregnant. I did the internal myself."

This was not supposed to happen. Rupert was fun, a lot of fun. But he was out of her system now. She was over him. He wasn't supposed to leave a parting un-gift for her, dammit!

"So what do you plan on doing?" Taffi asks.

"I don't know. I still haven't gotten past the part where you said that I was pregnant."

"Well I suggest you make up your mind soon. You'll be entering your second trimester within the next week. Once you hit your fifth month, there really isn't much options left for you."

"What do you think I should do?"

Taffi sighs. "It's not my place to tell you what to do. You need to do what's best for you. For Nashira."

"I shouldn't have teased Fatima with all those beach ball jokes, huh?" She laughs a little.

"You just call my office when you've made up your mind."

Nashira pulled out of the parking lot and onto the main street when she noticed her mom walking towards the hospital. She had left just in the nick of time. She really wasn't in the mood to explain to her mom why she was at the doctors that afternoon.

Denial couldn't last for every. And if the morning sickness wasn't enough the missing of a period was the dead give away. So Nashira is preggos with Rupert's love(?) child. She's still on the fence though about what to do.

And the hospital is a community lot, I have no idea why the mail box stayed when I rezoned it. *shrugs*

  1. Well, Nashira's in a bit of a mess, isn't she? This will be Rupert's second child, right? I wonder what he'd have to say.

I usually have to delete the mailbox and add the trash can and phone manually when I convert a residential lot to community. It's annoying.

  2. Yeah, she tried to deny what she knew for a while. But ignoring this won't make it go away. This will be Rupert's third child. He has Anothy with Anya and, Lars with Emma. Rupert will be broke paying out all this child support!

This is the first time it's ever happened to me. Normally once I rexone the lot I get the phone and trash can. Guess I should go in and fix it!

  3. Remember Good Times and that famous line by the Mom? "Damn, Damn, Dammmnnn!!!" That's what I'm thinking as I read this. LMBO!! My goodness, when I saw her Mother walking by, I thought for sure Nashira was noticed. Her Mom must know her car...Man, I can't wait to see what happens next. How is she gonna tell Doofus, err..I mean Rupert? LOL! And how is he going to react?! She's done messed up her life!! I'm so mad. She's so beautiful..she could have anyone or anything she wants out of life. Ok. I'll just have to wait and see what happens with Nashira. *bites nails*
